The “Height from floor” plugin allows specialists of engineering departments to record in the parameter specified by them the height mark exactly from the floor or from the ceiling, i.e. from the building structure that is under/over the element.
We run the plugin
In the resulting window, you need to specify the following:
1. Select the types of families in the tree structure for which you want the plugin to work. If you want to work on all categories, select the checkbox for all categories, if you want to work on all families in the project, click the “Select all” checkbox.
2. Indicate from which edge/point the plugin should calculate the distance.
3. If the calculation to the floor is necessary, check the checkbox here and select the parameter to which the plugin should produce the result of its work. This parameter must be by instance, with the data type length and all families that you selected in the first step.
4. If the calculation to the ceiling is necessary, check the box here and select the parameter into which the result of the plugin must be produced. This parameter must necessarily be by instance, with the data type length and in all families that you selected in the first step
5. Indicate the 3D view where the plugin will need to make a virtual ray from the calculated point downwards and/or upwards, to determine the geometry of the building structure it will find under/over this family.
6. Choose the categories of building structures that the plugin should handle.
7. If a recalculation is required - check the box here.
8. Let's run the plugin!
The plugin finally calculates and writes values to the specified parameters.
