The “Suspension” plugin allows you to place hangers on your communications with reference to building structures. To work, the plugin uses a special BimStep family, which is downloaded from the Internet. In order for the plugin to work, it must first be configured.
1.We check the box if you want to use the recommended BimStep parameters. In this case, the plugin will make further settings by itself.
2. We select the general position parameter.
3. We select the general parameter of the name.
4. We select the general parameter of the designation.
5. We select a common length parameter.
6. We select the general mass parameter.
7. We select the common units parameter.
8. We select the common product code parameter.
9. We select the general parameter of the manufacturer.
10. We select the general parameter of the note.
11. We select the general parameter of grouping.
12. We select the general parameter of the short name.
Once the settings have been made, we can start modeling hangers. Run the plugin for modeling hangers
Next, we select communications from the current model and click “Done”. If you only want to process communications from the linked model, click “Cancel”.
Then, select the elements from the linked model and click Done. If you do not need to process elements from the linked model, click Cancel.
You will eventually get a window where you will need to specify the following settings.
1. Specify the angle type from which the hanger will be made.
2. Specify the diameter of the armature from which the suspension rods will be made.
3. Set the suspencion spacing in mm.
4. Choose the 3D view where the plugin will search for slabs to install hangers.
5. Select the categories of building structures that the plugin should search for.
6. If it is necessary to make a different hanger for each communication, check the checkbox, otherwise - all selected communications will be installed on 1 common hanger.
7. For air ducts there is a setting “Multiple supports per level”. In this case, if you will have several ducts by height, then for each level will be made a different support from the corner.
8. For pipes, you can specify the “Clamping bracket to the support” setting. In this case, for the pipes that lie on the angle, a clamping bracket will be additionally supplied.
9. For pipes you can specify the settings “Clamp and rebar from support”. In this case, for pipes that are NOT lying on the corner, a clamp and stud from support will be additionally provided.
10. Press done.
As a result, the plugin arranges the hangers according to the selected communications.
Once all hangers have been modeled, you can also use the plug-in to create a specification for the hanger parts. To do this, run a separate plugin. In the opened window enter a name for the specification and click on the “Create” button.
As a result, we get an automatically generated specification.
