The “System project” plugin allows you to quickly create floor plans, 3D views, and a set of specifications strictly for selected systems in engineering models. This feature will be useful when you have modeled several systems in the model and it is time to perform design for each of the systems. Correspondingly, each system requires a set of plans, 3D view and specifications. For the plugin to work, you need to configure it beforehand.
1.We check the box if you want to use the recommended BimStep parameters. In this case, the plugin will make further settings by itself.
2. We select the text parameter that will be used to fill in the system name for families.
3. If you want to record the working set in some other parameter - select it here.
4. If it is necessary to also record “System Reduction” in some text parameter - select it here.
Running the plugin
We run the plugin
There are many settings to choose from in the window that opens:
1. We choose the format of work. There are three options to choose from. By system type.
For example, when you want to make views of the entire system, for example it could be the entire water system, regardless of the breakdown into subsystems.
By system name. For instance you have in the system type “Supply air” system P1,P2,P3 etc. and you want to make views only for example for system P2.
Manual entry. You can specify here manually which filter you want to filter by. For example, if you enter the letter “P”, then the created views will contain all the elements with the letter “P” in their names.
A special setting in these blocks is the “Separate” checkbox. If you click it, the plugin will process operations for each system separately, not together.
2. Select from the list the levels for which you want to create floor plans for the selected systems.
3. If you want to create a 3D view of the scheme on the system - click this checkbox.
4. Select types of views to create floor plans of engineering systems and 3D view.
5. If you are going to create floor plans - a view template will be created for them. Specify in these fields the suffix and prefix for the name of the view template that will be created and applied to floor plans.
6. Indicate the prefix and suffix for the name of the views that the plugin will create. This applies to floorplans as well as 3D views and specifications.
7. Any newly created views should eventually reside somewhere in the Project Manager. If your project manager is configured with sorting by text parameters - here you can specify their values, and then all the views that will be created by the plugin - you will be able to find in a certain place in the project manager and thus you will not lose and quickly find the result of the plugin in your project manager.
8. Choose here the parameters for the plug-in operation. If at the step with settings you have already configured everything and do not want to change it, then you can skip this step.
9. Select and customize in this block the specifications that you want to get for the selected systems by mapping. That is, for a particular category, put a check mark in the first column, and in the third column Select the original specification, which the plugin will copy and apply a filter on the system and thus you will get the specification for a particular category Revit with filtering on the system.
10. If you beat your model into separate working sets. For instance, you have several sections in a building and you beat each of them by work sets, or, for example, you want to divide the whole object into underground and above-ground parts. In this case you can additionally use working sets to filter elements. To do this, check the checkbox and select the working sets you want to filter by.
11. This button helps to restore the previous mapping for specifications in Table 9.
12. After setting all the settings, click the “Done” button.
As a result, the plugin first fills in the filtering parameters for all model elements, and then prepares floor plans, 3D views and specifications by applying the appropriate filter.
